ing gears, automotive wheels, engine
and transmission parts, and profil-
ing rollers. The plunge finishers have
variable speed control, vertical oscil-
lation, and eccentric orbital move-
ment.
Rosler’s TSA line can be configured
for robotic interface for easy loading
and unloading. All TSA machines
feature heavy-duty construction and
industrial grade motors and include
a work bowl lined with highly wear-
resistant polyurethane. They also
come with a user-friendly PLC-based
control panel for programming of all
essential operations. Other features
include a media unload plug for
quick and easy media changes as well
as dosing equipment for accurately
managing water and compounds.

mation.
POST-PLATING PROCESS
Technic has developed Auroguard
NP-12, a post-treatment process that
provides a protective coating on the
surface of gold-plated contacts used
in connector applications, improving
corrosion and wear-resistance. Using
Auroguard NP-12 improves gold
deposit quality and enables applica-
tion of a reduced gold thickness
without any decrease in deposit per-
formance, the company claims.
Technic’s Auroguard NP-12 chem-
istry is non-flammable and halogen-
free and the coating is thermally sta-
ble and able to withstand significant
thermal exposures (up to 260°C).
Auroguard NP-12 can be used as an
alternative to the generic lubricants
commonly used in the industry.
Auroguard NP-12 is the latest
release in Technic’s Goldeneye gold
reduction technology platform.

ELECTRO-CLEANING SYSTEMS
Walter Surface Technologies has
improved its SURFOX weld electro-
cleaning system. The system now
offers better cleaning performance,
new models, a larger range of acces-
sories, and an improved stainless
steel passivation tester.
“More and more clients require
high quality, clean and visibly pleas-
ing welds; the older methods of
cleaning welds are costly, unsafe and
complicated,” said Timothy
Houghton, president and COO of
Walter Surface Technologies
International.
Welding stainless steel often
leaves a heat tint on the surface that
metal fabricators must remove in
order to satisfy the demand for a
clean, fully passivated surface.
Grinding is time-consuming, labor
intensive, and not always effective.
Cleaning with pickling pastes
exposes the workers and the envi-
ronment to toxic compounds and
can be difficult to use. Walter’s
Surfox system replaces mechanical
abrasion and pickling paste with an
electrolyte solution. The result is a
safer, healthier industrial environ-
ment for the worker and a more
efficient work process that lowers
costs and produces a qualitative,
consistent finish on stainless steel.
In a typical application, the work-
er fills the weld cleaning machine
with a conductive electrolyte clean-
ing solution. When switched on,
the unit pumps the solution
through an application pad, which
simultaneously cleans and passi-
vates the part at a rate of 3 to 6 feet
per minute. After the electro-clean-
ing process, the worker applies a
neutralizing fluid to rebalance the
pH of the solution.
Now available in the USA are three
new models—the versatile 204, the
104 for production work, and the
mini for onsite jobs, touch-ups and
repairs.
Specific improvements include:
Improved internal circuitry. New
inverter boards provide non-stop
cleaning, offering higher perform-
ance and productivity. The new cir-
cuitry provides a steady current, so
the cleaning unit has no down-time,
and enables the use of highly con-
ductive materials for new
accessories.
More machine settings for electro-
chemical cleaning. With the flexibil-
ity of 3 settings (on the Surfox 204
machine only), the worker can set
the unit to Low, Medium, or High
according to the required cleaning
level.
A new carbon fiber brush for
precision cleaning. The high
conductivity of carbon fiber results
in greater electrochemical cleaning
power, making this new accessory
ideal for intricate, narrow areas or
tight corners. This accessory is sold
separately.
A large graphite insert and pad.
This new accessory is ideal for
larger areas and for small surface
renewing. Highly conductive, the
large long-lasting graphite insert
